The rigid strap on these SATA earplugs makes them great for folks that paddle with their earplugs mostly off but put them in for hole playing or deliberate rolling.
The rigid strap keeps them around your neck and not tangling in your helmet straps.
The band puts a clamping pressure holding it against the outside of your ear hole. These plugs do not sit inside your ear canal making them a good choice if your balance is affected from your ear being closed. The affect on hearing at speaking volumes is also lower.
This looser fit makes them not as good of a choice for sealing out cold water, but it is a good choice if your looking for just closing of from the damage of a sudden smack of water hitting your ear.
