This little ditty actually is quite functional for keeping water from shooting under your rim while surfing etc.

Use the smallest piece of foam you can get to avoid adding volume. You need to cut the piece with something small toothed and sharp like a hacksaw or bandsaw. If you are having trouble getting the pieces to make the curve you can do the block in several pieces starting with a short center piece and making wings off of it. You want enough distance to not interfere with putting your skirt on.
