This stuff is super grippy. It is great as your final outside layer for your hip pads and works outstanding as a coating for your seat. Its compression properties are similar to minicel foam but it feels quite a bit softer and it is does not become slippery when wet. Try some and you will be surprised how much more control you have over your boat!

This size is ideal for making tight turns and giving a grippy coating with a minimal effect on thickness. It is also nice for giving a uniform look when glued over outfitting that is a combination of several pieces. $12 |
outfitting tips for neoprene foam: Neoprene foam has surface pores that are quite a bit less dense than minicel. Spread one very thin coat of glue on the surface and allow it to dry before applying another layer and gluing as you normally would. The first layer will close the pores and give a better bond.
Adhesive backed neoprene foam.
This product has a peel away backing with the adhesive already in place. It is very convenient and fast to use. It is perfect for last second outfitting at the put in. It is also quite handy for complicated curves like thigh hooks. Just simply peel away the backing and stick in place and you are ready to go. This product is similar in softness to the medium density foam above but has smaller cells. It is available in three thickness' 3/8, 1/4, 1/8 th inches.

tips for outfitting with adhesive backed foam: 1. This foam is a good option for hard to reach places like thigh brace area. 2. You will get the best results if your boat and the glue backing are both warm. You can achieve this by putting a hair dryer on it for a few moments 3. The adhesion properties and longevity of this foam are not near as effective as properly applied contact cement. On high wear areas like the tops of hip pads, the non adhesive backed version is more effective. 3. Adhesive foam is also pretty handy for your roof racks. It will wear out very quickly but you can cut strips with scissors and place on your racks very easily. When using vertical stackers, the foam will keep a boat in place while you are getting it tied down.
