We choose the AT2 over the ATX for really short boats, fast moves like ledge cartwheels, or anywhere you need lower torque/higher rep. It is also outstanding for squirting.

  The AT2 is designed specifically for play boating giving all the benefits of a shorter paddle, with none of the disadvantages. The enhanced Complex Contour shaft offers the paddler even greater control over feathering and a stronger grip with less effort for hole riding and big wave surfing. The blade is powerful and close to the hands for better control and support.  The bottom edge of the blade is designed  to eliminate contact with the boats edge (a frequent problem with todays wider boat designs), and to give a smoother entry into the water while ruddering.
